Hartford/New Haven, CT (March 11, 2019) — WTNH News 8 and Hartford Athletic, Connecticut’s professional soccer team, have partnered to feature 17 LIVE games for the Club’s Inaugural 2019 USL Championship Season on WTNH’s sister station WCTX MyTV9.
“This partnership is a result of our common mission to better serve our local community,” said WTNH News 8 Vice President and General Manager Rich Graziano. “Teaming up with Hartford Athletic to broadcast 17 live games on WCTX MyTV9 is an exciting opportunity for fans to watch and support Connecticut’s new professional soccer club. This is a great community development opportunity for Connecticut and Greater Hartford as the passion for soccer is universal.”
“We are thrilled to partner with WTNH News 8 to provide our fans across the state a place to follow all the action throughout our inaugural season,” said Hartford Athletic Chairman & CEO Bruce Mandell. “WTNH will be a big part of providing a special experience for our fans as we kick off our home schedule at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field. We cannot wait to rock the Rent on May 4th, and then open the doors to a newly renovated Dillon Stadium early this summer.”
Starting May 4th, Hartford Athletic will kick off its home season versus the Charlotte Independence at 7pm at Pratt & Whitney Stadium at Rentschler Field in East Hartford. To celebrate the inaugural home match, WCTX MyTV9 will air a special pre-game show filled with fun and festivities starting at 6:30pm immediately followed by the game airing LIVE at 7pm.
Starting in mid-June, Hartford Athletic will begin play at its new home in historic Dillon Stadium.
