HARTFORD, Conn. (December 9, 2020) – Hartford Athletic announced today that Midfielder Conor McGlynn will return to the roster for the 2021 season.
McGlynn, a native of Middle Village, NY, made the club out of Open Tryouts in December of 2019, where he immediately caught the eye of Head Coach Radhi Jaïdi and earned an invitation to preseason training. He impressed throughout the preseason and earned his way into the starting lineup for the first match of the season. McGlynn played every minute of every match until he suffered a knee injury in the second half of the August 2nd match against Loudoun United FC. He was able to return at the end of the season, appearing in the final five matches.
“Hartford Athletic helped me achieve my goal of becoming a professional soccer player and I couldn't be happier or more thankful that I will be back for another year,” McGlynn said. “I’m so proud of the success we had on the field last year. We have a great core of returning players and I look forward to building on our success together.”
McGlynn joins fellow midfielders Danny Barrera and Gabriel Torres on the 2021 roster, as well as defender Alex Lara who was announced on Monday. More returning players and new signings will be announced in the coming weeks.
