Hackshaw, McQueen & Powder to Perform in Concacaf Nations League Starting this Weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (Thursday, April 2, 2022) – Indy Eleven has seen three players – defender/captain Neveal Hackshaw, defender Alex McQueen, and midfielder Noah Powder – called into their respective national team camps in preparation for the first four matchdays of the Concacaf Nations League tournament kicking off this weekend across North America, Central America and the Caribbean. Hackshaw and Powder will resume their regular national team duties for Trinidad and Tobago, while McQueen will rejoin Grenada during the tournament.
The Concacaf competition held during the FIFA international window will take the trio away from Indiana’s Team for its next two matches – this Saturday, June 4, at the Charleston Battery (7:00 p.m. ET, live on ESPN+) and next Wednesday, June 8, at The Miami FC (7:00 p.m. ET, live on MyINDY-TV 23 & ESPN+). All three players are expected to return to Indy Eleven camp in time to be considered for selection for its match on June 18 at Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC (9:00 p.m. ET, live on MyINDY-TV 23 & ESPN+).
Since making his debut at the senior level in 2015, Hackshaw has compiled 22 caps for Trinidad and Tobago, including appearances in six World Cup Qualifiers, the 2019 & 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cups, and the Copa America Centenario play-in tournament in 2016. The 26-year year old Eleven vice-captain has started six of his seven appearances for Indy this season, missing time only due to a previous national team call up late March.
Eligible to perform on behalf of the Soca Warriors through his Tobago-born father, the New Jersey native Powder has registered nine senior appearances since making his full international debut in January 2021, with those coming on the heels of 13 matches for T&T at the U-17 and U-20 levels across the start of his pro career dating back to 2016. Powder, who like Hackshaw made two appearances for the Soca Warriors in late March, has started eight of his 10 appearances during his first season with the Eleven in 2022 and has tallied a goal and assist while settling into a wide midfield role under Head Coach Mark Lowry.
The England-born McQueen is eligible to represent Grenada through family heritage and has made 13 appearances for the country’s senior national team since his debut in November 2017 – again with the most recent of those coming in March, when the Spice Boys traveled to Europe to face Gibraltar and Andorra. Amongst those “caps” were all three of Grenada’s Group Stage outings in the 2021 CONCACAF Gold Cup and two of the country’s four FIFA World Cup qualifying matches for Qatar 2022 during the first half of 2021.
