SETTING THE SCENE
The Boys in Blue hit the road Saturday for a USL Championship match-up at Western Conference leader Sacramento Republic FC.
The Eleven sits at 2-3-3 on the season after a 2-1 win at Loudoun United FC last Saturday. The month-opening victory came on the heels of a 0-3-2 USLC record in April.
Sacramento is 5-0-3, having earned a 1-1 draw at FC Tulsa in its last USLC outing on April 29.
SERIES VS. SACRAMENTO REPUBLIC FC
Saturday marks the first meeting between the two clubs.
BOUDADI EARNS USL WEEKLY HONOR
For the second consecutive week, Indy Eleven placed a defender on the USL Championship Team of the Week, with Younes Boudadi earning Week 9 accolades.
In the Eleven’s 2-1 comeback win at Loudoun United FC on Saturday, the defender registered an assist on Sebastian Guenzatti’s equalizer, his first of the 2023 season. Boudadi completed 56 of 65 passes, won nine of 12 overall duels and two of three tackles, while also notching nine recoveries in the match.
KING RETURNS TO INDY ELEVEN
Indy Eleven announced on May 12 the club has acquired defender Macauley King via transfer from fellow USL Championship club Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC. In a corresponding move, the Boys in Blue transferred forward Jonas Fjeldberg to the Switchbacks.
King returns to the Circle City, having begun his USL Championship career with the Eleven in 2019. He appeared in 22 matches in his rookie campaign, making 17 starts and logging 1,488 minutes, helping Indy to an appearance in the USL Championship Eastern Conference Final and a 19-9-6 final record, which included an undefeated mark at home. That season, King had one goal and three assists for the Eleven, while adding 25 clearances, four blocks, 14 interceptions and 17 tackles and 86 duels won. In all, the Leicester, England, native made 25 appearances for the Boys in Blue scoring once and adding four assists.
LAST TIME OUT

LDN 1:2 IND
A pair of late goals for the Eleven, including a 90th-minute match winner from Juan Tejada, lifted Indy Eleven (2-3-3) over Loudoun United FC (3-4-1), 2-1. Indy now leads the series with Loudoun 4-2-0 winning two of the last three.
Tejada came on in the 82nd minute to provide the spark for the Boys in Blue with his first goal of the season, off a headed assist from Douglas Martinez.
The Eleven’s equalizer came in the 73rd minute off a Martinez to Younes Boudadi combination that eventually found Sebastian Guenzatti on the near post for his second goal of the 2023 season and 61st-career USL strike.
