Las Vegas Lights FC today announced that the club has transferred midfielder Charlie Adams to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC.
The Lights acquired Adams ahead of the 2024 season. The veteran midfielder made 25 appearances in all competitions.
“I want to thank Charlie for his contributions and leadership in 2024,” said Sporting Director Gianleonardo Neglia. “Charlie was the very first signing we made when starting this project ahead of last season. With over 200 appearances in the league, he brought veteran experience to our locker room and great ability on the field as part of our Western Conference Final run. We wish him the best of luck in his next chapter with the Switchbacks.”
Adams first arrived in the USL Championship (then just the USL) in 2016 with Louisville City after starting his career in England’s League Two and League One. Between stops with Louisville, Real Monarchs, Orange County SC, San Diego Loyal, and now Las Vegas Lights FC, the English midfielder has racked up 220 appearances in the league.
With the Lights, Adams most notably scored in a 2-2 home draw against Louisville City on May 18.
Lights fans first chance to see the team in action will be this Saturday, March 1 at 7:30 p.m. in the team’s final preseason friendly versus The Town FC (San Jose Earthquakes MLS NEXT Pro team). Admission is FREE; an RSVP submission is required for entry. To fill out an RSVP, please click here.
Las Vegas will then open the season at home at Cashman Field on March 8 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies. Tickets are available now at lasvegaslightsfc.com/tickets.
