24-year-old former North Texas SC center back joins the Lights on a free transfer

Las Vegas Lights FC today announced the Club has signed defender Turner Humphrey to a contract through 2026, pending league and federation approval.
Humphrey made 28 appearances for North Texas SC throughout the 2024 MLS Next Pro season, helping the team keep seven clean sheets.
“We are very happy to welcome Turner to the team. He’s a physically strong defender who had a great year for North Texas, playing close to 2,000 minutes,” said Sporting Director Gianleonardo Neglia. “We feel he is ready to take another step forward in his career, and we’ve already seen success in players doing so here in Las Vegas after good seasons in MLS NEXT Pro.”
Humphrey played for the University of California-Davis during his freshman year in 2021, participating in 20 matches and being named to the Big West All-Conference All-Freshman Team. He then transferred to Oregon State, where he made 24 appearances, scoring one goal and giving out one assist.
He was selected 44th overall in the 2024 MLS SuperDraft by FC Dallas.
Las Vegas will open the season at home at Cashman Field on March 8 against the Tampa Bay Rowdies. For more information, including the full 2025 schedule, please click here.
