Lexington, KY– Lexington Sporting Club has announced the signing of French defender Gaël Gibert to its USL Championship men’s team, pending league and federation approval, further strengthening the club’s roster ahead of its inaugural season in the league.
Gibert, a native of Thiers, France, joins Lexington SC following a stint with FC Cincinnati 2 in MLS NEXT Pro. Before turning professional, he had a distinguished collegiate career at Clemson University and Oregon State University, showcasing his defensive prowess and leadership on the field.

Gibert’s signing marks another step in Lexington SC’s preparations for its first season in the USL Championship, as the club continues to assemble a competitive roster with a mix of young talent and experienced players.
