On the result as a whole:
“I’m disappointed for as well as we managed that game for 86 minutes and against a team that is extremely difficult to play particularly at their home, and to be up two goals, it’s really extremely disappointing that we weren’t able to close it out.”
On what emotions he’s experiencing after the draw:
“Extreme. There’s no way to sugarcoat it. It’s not a good feeling for the players or myself and we’re frustrated beyond belief because we knew that for 86+ minutes, we’d done … not that it was a great soccer game, but we’d done exactly what we needed to do in this environment to be successful.”
On how his team can be better against Penn FC on Wednesday:
“We have to evaluate the performance tonight but because we’ve played this three games in eight days, we’ll look to maybe manage the roster and give some guys that didn’t play tonight an opportunity. But, we’ve got to get back. We’ve been on this little bit of a streak where we’ve done enough to have results and we haven’t gotten the results that we felt we’ve deserved.”
On the goalscoring talent of Cameron Lancaster:
“We knew we weren’t going to get a lot of chances. The ability to play into [Cameron] and for him to finish that first goal and unlock them changed everything with how Pittsburgh was playing and how we were going to approach it from there on. Excellent execution in the limited opportunities we were getting. I was really happy with him and with his work ethic. But, unfortunately, I don’t think any of his feel good about the way [the game] ended.”
On what he liked from his side tonight:
“I really liked the way we defended for 86+ minutes and managed the game. I thought we were a mature, experienced side dealing with everything that an opponent at home was throwing at us. Total credit to Pittsburgh because they are extremely good at what they do and they make it extremely difficult to play against them. They’re well-coached, they know what they’re looking for and they do it so well. I would be so complimentary on what we did up until that point but the reality is you have to close out games.
