FRIDAY, APRIL 10, 2020 – In an effort help raise funds for the One Louisville COVID-19 Response Fund, Louisville City FC’s official merchandising partner Dyehard Fan Supply has produced a purple #LouCityStrong t-shirt with $10 of each $20 shirt sold going to help those in need as a result of the pandemic.
Louisville City fans pre-ordered so many of the #LouCityStrong shirts that DyeHard Fan Supply has already collected more than $8,000 for the COVID-19 Response Fund. The new shirts were so popular that they will now be available in local Kroger stores starting Friday, April 10.
“Our focus is on trying to find ways to help our community during this difficult time,” Louisville City FC President. Brad Estes said. “I’m proud of our fans for how they have responded and we are proud that our partners at DyeHard Fan Supply were able to help us produce this #LouCityStrong shirt so that we could help the Community Foundation of Louisville.”
A long-time Louisville City FC partner, Kroger is partnering with Louisville City and DyeHard Fan Supply to make the new shirts available near the registers in stores around the region.
“Kroger is honored to partner with LouCity to help raise funds for such an important cause in our city,” Erin Grant, Corporate Affairs Manager, and Media Relations for the Kroger Co. said. “At this time, like no other in our history, we must all partner together to do what we can to help our neighbors in need. Together we will come through this health event stronger than we were before.”
The Community Foundation of Louisville, through its One Louisville COVID-19 Response Fund, will receive funds from each t-shirt sold. The Fund was created by a coalition of government and philanthropical organizations to rapidly deploy resources to households, businesses, and community-based organizations (nonprofit organizations) working at the frontlines of the Louisville-area coronavirus outbreak.
“The Community Foundation of Louisville and the One Louisville Fund are grateful for the donations from Louisville City FC, their Official Merchandising Partner Dyehard Fan Supply, and Kroger through the special t-shirt sales supporting the One Louisville: COVID-19 Response Fund,” Community Foundation of Louisville Director of Stewardship Kate Biagi-Rickert said. “We are proud to see the community and great partners stepping up to meet needs during this time. The sales of these shirts is a great way for fans of Lou City soccer, and the general public, to show support of our city.”
