Louisville City FC’s scheduled Wednesday game has been postponed after a covered person within the Sporting KC II organization tested positive for COVID-19.
Proceeding with an abundance of caution, LouCity and Sporting KC II are instead set to meet one week later on Wednesday, Aug. 19, at 8 p.m. inside Lynn Family Stadium.
Through numerous rounds of COVID-19 testing dating back before the USL Championship’s restart in July, LouCity has not received a positive result. Those on what the league calls its “covered persons” list — players, coaches and staff members who may come into contact with the team — are screened regularly under the USL’s health and wellness protocols.
This postponement makes the next game on LouCity’s docket a Saturday matchup with Loudoun United FC, also at 8 p.m. at Lynn Family Stadium.
