With Louisville City FC off over the weekend, the Soccer City radio show, presented by Kentuckiana Toyota Dealers, took stock of the club’s bigger picture.
That started with an appearance from youth academy director Mario Sanchez, who joined host Lance McGarvey to discuss developments that could lead to more and more talented youngsters contributing to the LouCity first team.
“These kids are going to be able to train and walk around shoulder to shoulder with these professional players, and that atmosphere — that environment — will create a different edge to the training and make it real for these kids,” Sanchez said.
Beyond that, the crew evaluated LouCity at the halfway point with the boys in purple second in the USL Championship’s Group E standings — holding a playoff spot — as of Saturday. Ahead of Wednesday’s game against Indy Eleven, LouCity is unbeaten in its last three with two wins.
