Josh Wynder will go straight from international duty to the Louisville City FC lineup Saturday for a 10 p.m. ET kickoff at Sacramento Republic FC.
The 17-year-old defender is fresh off appearing in a pair of games for the U.S. U-20 national team as it prepares for this spring’s World Cup. Having rejoined LouCity midweek, Wynder slots in at central defense to make his first start of the USL Championship season.
Wynder’s addition is among the five changes ordered up by coach Danny Cruz as LouCity looks to rebound from last weekend’s 3-0, home-opening defeat to El Paso Locomotive FC.
Oscar Jimenez gets the nod at left back alongside Sean Totsch, Wynder and Manny Perez.
Tyler Gibson is back in the midfield with Carlos Moguel Jr. and Jorge Gonzalez, who makes his first start back from a preseason injury.
Enoch Mushagalusa, Cameron Lancaster and Brian Ownby — who returns from a one-game red card suspension — make up the front three.
LouCity featured a shortened player availability report entering Saturday with only Wes Charpie (out) and Dylan Mares (questionable) listed. Newly available as substitutes this weekend are forwards Wilson Harris and Ray Serrano.
City at Sacramento Republic will air live locally on WBKI and ESPN Louisville’s 680/105.7 with streaming coverage via ESPN+.
