Josh Wynder, who spend midweek in camp with the U.S. Men’s National Team, returned fit to play in Saturday’s Louisville City FC game at the Charleston Battery. And so for the first time this season, coach Danny Cruz didn’t have to adjust his lineup with the teams set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. at Patriots Point.
Rookie Oliver Semmle — who has set to concede a goal in three USL Championship starts — remains in goal with a back four of Amadou Dia, Sean Totsch, Manny Perez and Wynder, the rising star 17-year-old center back.
Tyler Gibson, Rasmus Thellufsen and Paolo DelPiccolo make up the midfield. The front three are Enoch Mushagalusa, Brian Ownby and Wilson Harris, who has scored two games running.
LouCity’s bench is largely the same, too, from last week’s 1-0 victory over Western Conference power San Antonio FC. Ramzi Qawasmy makes way for Wes Charpie, with the veteran center back available as a sub for the first time this year.
Charleston, under new coach Ben Pirmann, is unbeaten to lead the Eastern Conference. LouCity would take over the table’s top spot with a win.
Saturday’s game airs locally on WBKI/The CW and ESPN Louisville’s 680/105.7. USL Championship games also stream via ESPN+.
