Louisville City FC will maintain continuity amid a four-game unbeaten streak Saturday against Birmingham Legion FC with coach Danny Cruz electing for just one change — Amadou Dia in, Manny Perez out — ahead of a 5:30 p.m. kickoff at Protective Stadium in Alabama.
Dia narrowly missed making the lineup in LouCity’s most-recent game, a 2-2 draw with Rio Grande Valley FC. Days prior to that, he exited a 1-1 midweek result versus the Charleston Battery in the 54th minute due to injury concerns. But the wing back did still appear on the weekend as a sub against RGV.
Aside from Dia’s reintroduction, it’s the same group as last time backed up by goalkeeper Oliver Semmle, the USL Championship’s shutouts leader with 11 on the year. Kyle Adams, Wes Charpie and Sean Totsch, from left to right, make up the back three for a fifth straight game.
Dia figures to man the left wing and Oscar Jimenez the right. Tyler Gibson and Rasmus Thellufsen will play in the midfield, right behind a front three of Dylan Mares, Elijah Wynder and Cameron Lancaster.
Notably, midfielder Jorge Gonzalez is newly available off the bench having not appeared since June 3 due to injury.
Saturday’s game will air locally on MyTV 58 and ESPN Louisville’s 680/105.7. USL Championship games also stream via ESPN+.
