Louisville City FC will largely roll with the same group Saturday at Colorado Springs Switchbacks SC that helped the boys in purple score a dramatic victory last weekend.
Kyle Adams returns at center back in the only change from that win over Oakland Roots SC, secured in the 98th minute when Oscar Jimenez rocketed a shot off the volley to make the score 2-1 at Lynn Family Stadium.
LouCity will see if that form translates to the road, with Saturday’s 9 p.m. kickoff at Weidner Field marking the first of five away games in September. The boys in purple, however, have taken points from nine road fixtures this year — equaling their number of home results.
Oliver Semmle, who continues to lead the USL Championship in clean sheets with 11, will continue at goalkeeper against the Switchbacks behind a back four of Jimenez, Adams, Sean Totsch and Manny Perez. Adams replaces Wes Charpie, who’s out with an excused absence, not injury.
Carlos Moguel Jr., Paolo DelPiccolo and Elijah Wynder make up the midfield trio with a front three of Jorge Gonzalez, Wilson Harris and Ray Serrano expected from left to right.
The bench is also the same as last week’s aside from the reintroduction of midfielder Niall McCabe.
LouCity at Colorado Springs will air locally on WBKI/The CW and ESPN Louisville’s 680/105.7. USL Championship games also stream live via ESPN+.
