With the Players’ Shield secured, Saturday’s 8:30 p.m. match at San Antonio FC won’t have any bearing on the regular season table. But Louisville City FC coach Danny Cruz will use a game at Toyota Field to test his squad’s depth with two games before the playoffs.
Cruz made eight changes to his starting lineup, providing opportunity from back to front of the formation for some different players to prove they also belong on the pitch in the postseason.
While Damian Las remains in goal, LouCity will roll out a slightly different defense, seeing Wes Charpie start in place of Kyle Adams. Last week’s goal scorers, Arturo Ordóñez and Sean Totsch, join Charpie on the back line.
Out wide are Jake Morris (left wingback) and Jansen Wilson (right). Niall McCabe gets both the start and captain’s armband in the midfield alongside Carlos Moguel Jr., who’s making his first league start since April 9.
There’s full rotation up top as Phillip Goodrum leads the way in LouCity’s attack. He’ll be flanked by Sam Gleadle and Evan Davila, who has the chance to earn his first minutes since August 23.
LouCity at San Antonio is set to air locally on MyTV 58, WDRB+ and ESPN Louisville’s AM 680/FM 105.7. ESPN+ will carry national streaming coverage.
