Loudoun United FC will play their second match of the 2022 United Soccer League (USL) Regular Season against New York Red Bulls II on Saturday, March 19 at 1 p.m. ET at MSU Soccer Park. This will be the Red-and-White’s first away game of the season.

Loudoun United come off a 1-0 win against Indy Eleven on the opening day of the season on March 12. Kimarni Smith opened the scoring with an assist from Ted Ku-DiPietro in the first half which proved to be the game winner. This marks the best start in the history of Loudoun United.

“The guys are excited and ready to go. Red Bulls got their first win last night so they’re on a roll as well. It’s always a tough one when [we] play Red Bulls, it’s a rivalry game. But right now, it’s about us this early in the season with 33 games left. The focus is on how do we get better from Saturday to this Saturday, can we clean up chances and a couple mistakes we made? As we go into Saturday, it’s really about us and about our improvement. The guys have done it this week [in training] so the attitude and mentality are positive. We’re excited for a rivalry match at Red Bulls.”
About New York Red Bulls II
Red Bulls II started their eighth season of play with two away trips in the 2022 USL Championship campaign. In the season opener, New York Red Bulls II traveled to Ricardo Silva Stadium to play Miami FC, where they fell 2-0 on March 12. Following a quick turnaround, the Red Bulls defeated Atlanta United 2 1-0 on Wednesday, March 16. Steven Sserwadda will not feature in the match following his red card for two cautionable offenses against Atlanta United 2.

Saturday will be the ninth time these two teams face each other in the USL Championship Regular Season, with New York leading the head-to-head with an all-time record of 4-3-1. The last time they met the Red-and-White lost 4-1 at Segra Field on Oct. 30, 2021.
