Leesburg, VA. (March 9, 2022) – Loudoun United FC announced today the acquisition of midfielder Abdoul Koanda.
“[Abdoul] Koanda is a very athletic center midfielder who is very brave in the tackle,” Ryan Martin, Loudoun United FC Head Coach. “He is great at finding second balls. While young, he is very competitive and will add a lot to our central midfield. He lives up to the saying, ‘you don’t have to be the biggest player to make a big difference in matches.’”
Koanda, an Ivory Coast native, joins Loudoun United FC (LUFC) after most recently competing with ASEC Mimosas. The 18-year-old adds depth and creativity to United’s midfield.
ASEC Mimosas is an Ivorian football club based in Abidjan. Founded in 1948, the prestigious club has produced many world class footballers including Yaya Toure and Salomon Kalou.
