Hometown hero Devon Sandoval tucked away the evening’s first goal in the 43rd minute. Fellow University of New Mexico soccer alum, Chris Wehan sent in a dangerous ball to the back post. It found defender Justin Schmidt’s head, and Schmidt knocked it along to Sandoval, who finished with poise.
Deshorn Brown equalized for the visitors in the 73rd minute. Even with a tough angle, Brown found a way to sneak it past United Goalkeeper, Cody Mizell.
Up next for United is a showdown with Sacramento Republic FC, slated for Saturday, June 8. Kickoff will be at 7:30 pm MT.
