The Capital Area RailHawks Academy and ECNL teams were in action over the past weekend. All teams combined for 7 wins, 2 ties, and 3 losses, including a +16 goal differential over 12 games played at WRAL Soccer Center. The boys Academy teams ran the table against the Carolina Rapids (Charlotte) with 2-0, 5-1, and 2-0 results. U-15 US Youth National Team player Lucas Del Rosario scored a hat-trick in the U-15/16 Academy victory and Jack Butterfield and Cole Palmer record shutouts for the U-13/14 and U-17/18 Academy teams, respectively.
This weekend, all Academy and ECNL teams will hit the road with the U-15/16 and U-17/18 Academy teams traveling to Florida to face Weston FC and Kendall SC. The U-13/14 Academy team will also be away, but only making the trip to WakeMed Soccer Park to face NC Alliance Academy. The ECNL girls will make the trip to Virginia to face the Richmond Strikers and Virginia Rush ECNL squads.
