Oakland Roots SC added Georgian International Center Back Gagi Margvelashvili ahead of the 2024 USL Championship season. The 27-year old is a multi-time champion of the Georgian top division with Saburtalo Tbilisi and Dinamo Batumi. Additionally, in 2021-2022 Margvelashvili won the Macedonian first division with Shkupi. Margvelashvili spent the majority of his career with Saburtalo Tbilisi before spending time with Dinamo Batumi, Shkupi, and most recently Dinamo Tbilisi. He has international experience as well having represented his nation over 30 times at the U17, U19, and U21 levels.
