(September 27, 2018) – After officially clinching a USL Cup playoff spot last week, Orange County Soccer Club has clinched home field advantage for the first round of the post-season and retained its lead atop the USL Western Conference table. Last night’s win in “Sin City” vs. Las Vegas Lights FC represents another achievement in a season full of historic milestones, and guarantees the first professional soccer home playoff game for the County of Orange.
"Going into this game, we knew it wasn’t going to be easy," said Orange County SC Head Coach Braeden Cloutier. "But once again we dug deep and found a way to win. I’m extremely proud of these players. We know we still have two games to go, but we are more motivated than ever to accomplish our goal of winning the Western Conference."
Orange County SC will host the first round playoff game at Championship Soccer Stadium on Saturday, October 20th. Tickets for the first round match and other playoff ticket packages will go on sale for the general public beginning at 10am PT on Wednesday, October 3rd, here: https://sportsengine-staging.go-vip.net/orangecountysoccer/2018playoffs.
“We are incredibly excited to host our first ever home playoff game at Championship Soccer Stadium at the Orange County Great Park,” said Orange County SC General Manager & EVP Oliver Wyss. “Our loyal fans have supported us all season long, and this is a tribute to all of them as well as the entire Orange County soccer community”.
The USL Cup playoff tournament is a single elimination format featuring the top 8 teams from both divisions. Orange County SC is currently in 1st place in the Western conference, and is in good position to secure the Western Conference Championship.
