IRVINE, Calif. (OCTOBER 17, 2018) – Orange County SC is pleased to announce a multi-year contract extension with its Head Coach, Braeden Cloutier. Cloutier’s leadership has been essential to the club as it has established itself as a perennial contender in the USL Western Conference and a prime destination for talented youth players seeking a professional soccer career in Southern California and ultimately professional clubs around the globe.

“We are delighted to announce that Braeden has signed a multi-year contract extension” said General Manger and Executive Vice President Oliver Wyss. “Braeden is a proven winner who leads by example with his hard work and dedication to the club and its players. He has established a championship mentality in the locker room and we are excited to see him build on the momentum he has established with this year’s historic season, including winning the regular season Western Conference. Braeden is fully aligned with the goals of the organization to compete at a championship level while developing young talents that our fans and the entire Southern California soccer community are excited about.”
Under Cloutier’s leadership Orange County SC has reached a number of historic milestones this season, including its first ever home playoff game. 2018 will be Cloutier’s third playoffs as a coach with the club, after his first two appearances in 2015 and 2016 as an assistant coach for OCSC’s predecessor club the Orange County Blues.

ABOUT BRAEDEN CLOUTIER
Cloutier has over 25 years of playing and coaching experience, both domestically and internationally. The Kansas native started his professional playing career in Germany with German powerhouse Hamburger SV where he spent 2 years. He then moved back to the USA to play indoor soccer. In 1997 he was drafted by the New York Metro Stars where he played alongside Italian soccer legend Roberto Donadoni, opening the door for a vastly successful career in the MLS. Following his retirement in 2005, he became the Head Coach of PDL side Orange County Blue Star, where he was responsible for the development of current MLS stars Kei Kamara and Sacha Kljestan. He continued his coaching career in Southern California with West Coast Futbol Club and most recently with the Orange County Blues, where he worked as First Assistant coach helping the side land back to back playoff appearances in 2015 & 2016.
