(PHOENIX) September 12, 2017 – Phoenix Rising FC defender Victor Vasquez was named to the United Soccer League Team of the Week for Week 25. This is the tenth time a Phoenix Rising FC player has been named to the team of the week this season and the first time this year Vasquez has received the honor. This is also the third consecutive week a Phoenix Rising player has received the honor.
In two matches against Orange County SC and Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC, Vasquez recorded five tackles and four interceptions as the club went 1-0-1. As an honorable mention, A.J. Gray scored the game-winning goal in the club’s 2-1 win over Switchbacks FC.
Phoenix Rising FC returns to the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex on this Saturday for a showdown with the Western Conference-leading Real Monarchs SLC. The match will kickoff at 7:30 p.m.
