
PHOENIX (July 13, 2018) — Phoenix Rising FC will host its lone home match of July on Friday when it welcomes Seattle Sounders FC 2 to the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex. The match kicks off at 8 p.m. and fans can watch locally on Yurview Arizona, Cox channels 4&1004 in Phoenix and 7&1007 in Tucson. They can also stream the match on ESPN+. The match will also be simulcast live on the radio on El Patron 93.7 FM (Spanish language) and Fox Sports 910 AM (English).
Phoenix Rising FC (10-4-5) enters Friday's showdown in fifth place in the Western Conference despite a loss in its most recent match to Fresno FC, a defeat that snapped a six-match unbeaten streak. A win against Seattle would vault Rising back up to second place in the Western Conference.
Rising FC is off to a record start this year with 35 points in its first 19 matches. The club is also a league leader in several categories, including goal difference (plus-15, third best in the league), goals scored (34, third-most), goals allowed (19, tied for sixth-fewest), clean sheets (8, tied for fifth-most) and shots (304, second-most).
Seattle Sounders FC 2 (3-12-2) enters Friday’s match in the midst of a five-match losing streak that has dropped the side into last place in the Western Conference with 11 points. The team was defeated by Real Monarchs SLC, 2-0, last week.
Friday will be the first meeting between the two clubs this year but the eighth-ever matchup in the series all-time. PRFC defeated Sounders FC 2 twice last season and has won three of the last four in the series overall.
Friday night will mark the final Blackout Night of the season for Phoenix Rising with the previous two Blackout Night’s each ending in wins in front of crowds of 7,000 plus fans. A sell-out crowd is expected once again at the Phoenix Rising Soccer Complex.
