
(June 18, 2019) — Phoenix Rising FC continued its undefeated run following a 3-0 shutout win on the road against Reno 1868 FC. Behind goals from Adam Jahn, Solomon Asante, and Joey Calistri, and the 8th clean sheet of 2019 from Zac Lubin, the club has now won six straight matches, a new club record.

Rising FC wasted little time taking the lead. In the 7th minute, Asante cut a pass back through traffic to the top of the box for Jahn. After dribbling the ball toward the center of the box, he ripped a left-footed shot past the diving keeper to make it 1-0.
Neither team found the back of the net through the rest of the half but Rising doubled its lead in the 55th minute.
Midfielder Jon Bakero sent in an arching ball into the box for teammate José Aguinaga. With his back to the goal and running away from the net, Aguinaga chested the ball down and back toward Asante, who swopped in and banged a right-footed shot off the short hop to beat the goalkeeper for a 2-0 lead.
Calistri capped off the evening with his second goal in as many matches. In stoppage time, Collin Fernandez sent a free kick toward the right side of the box toward Andrew Wheeler-Oiunu. The FC Tucson loanee headed the ball back across the box to find Calistri, who had no issue burying his shot.
Phoenix Rising finishes its two-match road trip by heading to Oklahoma City this Saturday to take on OKC Energy FC. Fans can watch the match at one of two official watch parties: the Three Wisemen in Scottsdale and Thirsty Lion in Tempe Marketplace. The match will kickoff at 6 p.m.
