Four of our Racing Louisville FC players on loan in Australia rang in the New Year with games over the weekend. Goalkeepers Hillary Beall (Western United) and Jordyn Bloomer (Western Sydney Wanderers), midfielder Alex Chidiac (Melbourne Victory) and forward Jess McDonald (Western United) all saw action.
Forward Emina Ekic sustained an ankle fracture over Christmas and is expected to miss the remainder of her loan spell with Melbourne City FC.
Here’s how our players in action fared …
Alex Chidiac
Chidiac scored her second goal of the A-League Women season for Melbourne Victory against Canberra United. The goal came in the 44th minute when she slotted the ball past the Canberra United goalkeeper for the game-winner.
Jess McDonald
McDonald logged an assist in Western United FC’s 3-2 comeback victory over Perth Glory FC, serving a ball to Chloe Logarzo for the game-tying goal in the 67th minute.
Hillary Beall
Beall made three saves in Western United’s win over Perth Glory. On loan, she has played every minute, captaining the club to an unbeaten record in its first five matches of the season.
Jordyn Bloomer
Bloomer went the full 90 minutes in net, helping Western Sydney Wanderers earn their first point of the season against Wellington Phoenix.
