Racing Louisville head coach Bev Yanez has made two changes to the starting lineup ahead of her team’s 3 p.m. Saturday home tilt with San Diego Wave FC at Lynn Family Stadium.
Ellie Jean returns to the back line, starting for the first time since the March 15 season opener. Jean missed time due to concussion protocol but did return to the Louisville bench last week.
The other change comes in the midfield. Marisa DiGrande replaces Taylor Flint, who was listed as questionable entering Saturday due to a foot injury. Flint did not make the game day squad.
The rest of the team remains unchanged from Racing’s defeat last weekend to the Washington Spirit.
Katie Lund returns in goal, set to make her 79th career start. Lund faced six shots on target in the loss to Washington and made four saves. Both were season highs.
Jean’s return to the lineup pushes captain Arin Wright to left center back, where she’ll play alongside rookie Ella Hase. Lauren Milliet, fresh off her 100th NWSL appearance against Washington, slots in at right back next to Jean.
DiGrande joins Ary Borges and Katie O’Kane in the midfield. Borges led the team in recoveries (5) versus Washington and was second in successful duels (9). The rookie O’Kane starts for a third consecutive game.
The front three remains unchanged. Emma Sears, who has scored twice this season to lead Racing, will play on the right. Sarah Weber, the rookie from Nebraska, will play on the left. Kayla Fischer, who leads Racing in shots this season with 15, starts as the center forward.
On the bench, Savannah DeMelo, the club’s all-time leading scorer, is on the game day squad for the first time since Racing’s away trip to Bay FC on March 22. Uchenna Kanu is also available as a reserve, after registering one shot on target in five minutes against Washington.
Gates open at 1:30 p.m. for a $2 happy hour with beer and Pepsi products at bars throughout the concourse. At halftime, children are invited to an Easter Egg hunt in the BlueOval SK Fan Zone, with baskets provided. Coverage will air on NWSL+, Paramount+ and Sports Talk 790AM.
