PITTSBURGH (March 21, 2019) – Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC (0-1-0) will look to bounce back from its season opener loss, as it prepares to battle the Swope Park Rangers (0-1-0) at 5 p.m. on Saturday at Children’s Mercy Park.
This will mark the first-ever meeting between the clubs. Despite both playing at the USL Championship level for the past three years, the two have never met as the Rangers previously competed in the Western Conference. This season is Swope Park’s first campaign as an Eastern Conference squad.
Saturday’s match will be the Rangers’ home opener, as the club dropped its season opener to New York Red Bulls II, 3-1. Swope Park allowed 15 shots on goal in the contest.
As the Rangers will aim to shore up their defensive efforts, the Hounds will plan to up their offensive output. Pittsburgh, shut out in its season opener at the Tampa Bay Rowdies, is looking to post its first tally of the season.
This game is the second of a four-match road string for the Hounds. The Black and Gold do not return to Pittsburgh until its home opener on April 13. Fans can purchase their tickets to the home opener by visiting ticketmaster.com.
