ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (May 11, 2017) — As the build-up to the opening of the Premier Development League season continues, the Tampa Bay Rowdies have confirmed the technical staff that will take charge of Rowdies U23 this coming season.
The Rowdies U23 will begin their inaugural PDL season on May 27 under the direction of Head Coach Keith Fulk. Kevin Clinton, a former Rowdies goalkeeper, and Alex Delgado will serve as Assistant Coaches, while Jonathan Tiggs is the Strength and Conditioning Coach.
Fulk joined the Rowdies organization earlier this year to work with the Rowdies’ youth affiliate, Tampa Bay United. He is a legend of the Tampa Bay soccer community, having won three national championships at the University of Tampa, one as a player in 1981, one as an assistant coach in 1994 and one as head coach in 2001. Fulk spent the past six seasons as head coach at Saint Leo University.
Clinton played for the Rowdies, both indoor and outdoor, during spells between 1979 and 1988. He served as goalkeeper coach for Rowdies 2 last season and is the father of former Rowdies midfielder Kyle Clinton.
Delgado has been with Tampa Bay United since 2006 and also serves as the Head Coach of the 2003 DA team and the Director of the Academy for U9/U10.
Tiggs played collegiately for The University of Tampa until the end of the 2016 season and now assists with both TBU Rowdies and the Development Academy.
Maurice Loregnard, current Associate Head Coach of The University of Tampa Men’s soccer team, will also be assisting Rowdies U23.
The Rowdies U23 roster is in place and will be announced later this week, with the players being introduced at halftime of Saturday’s first-team match against Louisville City FC. The U23 team began training this week and its 14-game regular season begins on May 27. Rowdies U23 will play its home games at the Waters Soccer Complex in Tampa. The full schedule is here.
