Sacramento Republic FC will once again be taking part in St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s fight against childhood cancers. On Monday, Mar. 14 de Vere’s Irish Pub will be hosting their annual St. Baldrick’s Day event. The event runs from 4-9 p.m at de Vere’s in downtown Sacramento.
Republic FC Goalkeeper Dominik Jakubek will be joining Republic FC staff members, fans and other Sacramento community members to shave his head for the cause. Republic FC are challenging fans to raise $2,500 in support of Jakubek’s participation in the event.
Jakubek will be participating in the event as a member of the de Vere’s Irish pub team. He will shave his head if and when Republic FC fans donate $2,500 to his St. Baldrick’s participant page by Monday at 5 p.m.

Proceeds from Monday’s St. Baldrick’s Day benefit the Keaton Raphael Memorial, a local foundation serving families throughout the Sacramento region affected by childhood cancer.
Sacramento Republic FC have participated in St. Baldrick’s Day since their inaugural season. Previous shaving participants include Republic FC President Warren Smith, defender Emrah Klimenta, midfielder Max Alvarezand Front Office staff members Luca Cerrati and Kelsey Price.
Additionally, members of the Tower Bridge Battalion have a team that participates annually in the event.
Sacramento Republic FC fans are also welcome to participate by shaving their heads at the event and joining the de Vere’s team, volunteering or donating to St. Baldrick’s.
