Sacramento Republic FC 0| Saint Louis FC 1
Sacramento Republic FC Head Coach and Technical Director Paul Buckle:
(On finding goals this season)
“We have to keep working at it. Goals are the hardest thing to get in the game of football. It’s a common theme for us, it’s been a common theme since I’ve been at the football club actually, where we dominate games.”
(On taking advantage of chances)
“We had 12 corners, corners in good areas and it takes somebody to get in there in the 18-yard box and get something. So that’s the theme tonight. That was what the talk was about, it was about who’s going to step forward. When we’ve got a team like we have where we have so much of the ball and we do create so many chances and we do get good crossing positions, somebody has to step forward.”
(On the strikers)
“We brought Jahn to the club and Sherrod this season so that tells you a story that I felt we needed some presence, more presence in the box because we are making deliveries into the box. We weren’t able to utilize that [tonight] because Mark is injured and Adam had an unfortunate sending off so I gave an opportunity to Harry Williams tonight and I think he played pretty well. He’s a very talented young man and for someone who’s 20 I thought for his debut he was outstanding. And the way he linked up with our players was perfect for us, it’s what we’re looking to do, and I tell you, he can score goals.
