Sacramento Republic FC fans teamed up to donate more than 1,000 rolls of toilet paper at Wednesday’s match as part of efforts to kick start Loaves & Fishes’ annual toilet paper drive.
A local nonprofit, Loaves & Fishes feeds the hungry and shelters Sacramento’s homeless and provides basic survival services to those in need throughout the Sacramento region.
Each year, Loaves & Fishes hosts a toilet paper drive to help offset the nonprofit’s costs in providing basic survival necessities, such as personal hygiene items like toilet paper. For the local nonprofit, one of their key services is providing those in need access to clean fully stocked restrooms at their shelter.
In all, 1,037 rolls of toilet paper were collected at Wednesday’s match, although Republic FC fans are still welcome to make donations to Loaves & Fishes’ annual toilet paper drive, which runs through August 2.
Republic FC fans may drop off their toilet paper donations at the club’s Headquarters and Team Store, which is located at 2421 17th Street. The Team Store is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
