Sacramento Republic FC have agreed to a USL contract with midfielder Jaime Villarreal for the 2018 season.
“Jaime is another talented young player with a great pedigree of experience from his time at the LA Galaxy Academy and MLS professional experience,” said Republic FC Head Coach and Technical Director Paul Buckle. “He fits in well to our roster moves for 2018 as we look to sign more young talent; players in which we can maximize their potential and develop for the long term.”
Villarreal joins Republic FC after spending his whole academy and professional career with MLS-side LA Galaxy. He made seven appearances, including four starts with LA Galaxy after signing his first MLS contract in 2017. The midfielder signed his first professional contract with Los Dos in July 2014 after playing in the LA Galaxy Academy. Villarreal made over 70 appearances over four seasons with Los Dos, scoring three goals and adding seven assists.
