SACRAMENTO, Calif. (August 15, 2018) — Sacramento Republic FC travel to Missouri on Wednesday night to take on Saint Louis FC. Kickoff at Toyota Stadium is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. PT and the match will be broadcast live on ESPN+.
Wednesday’s match will be second and final regular season encounter between Sacramento and Saint Louis. The two sides previously met back on June 23 in a 2-2 draw at Papa Murphy’s Park. Cameron Iwasa scored a brace to give his side the 2-0 lead, but Saint Louis scored in the final quarter hour—including a 90th-minute goal—to rescue a point from their visit to Northern California.
Republic FC (12-5-7, 43 points) arrive in Saint Louis after defeating Rio Grande Valley FC Toros 2-1 at home last Saturday. Carlos Small had put the Toros up 1-0 after just 30 seconds, but Iwasa scored his record-breaking 27th goal for the club to level the match before Jeremy Hall headed home the winning goal. Iwasa’s goal—his 11th of the season—broke the tie with Rodrigo Lopez for the club’s all-time all-competitions scoring record and helped extend Republic FC’s unbeaten streak in league play to six games.

On the bench, Anthony Pulis, a former Stoke City player and USL veteran, is currently in his first season as head coach of Saint Louis FC. Pulis previously managed the Orlando City B side the last two years in the USL, reaching the playoffs in his first year.
