The academy director laid out the plan for success and descriptively noted the way the academy staff sets up the players for success.
“We are firm believers in having a healthy amount of competition,” Sanchez says. “We want players to feel comfortable within our environment and staff, but also with the expectation that every day when they come out, they have to work hard and they have to compete.”

Sanchez also explains the importance of having academy products sign first team contracts gives players in the academy the belief in the pathway to playing for the first team.
“We don’t want to just sign academy players just to sign them,” Sanchez states. “We see them as viable pieces of contributing to winning championships. We want to win and we want our academy players to be very much a part of that process.”
On the heels of Rafa taking the step to become a pro, Sanchez shares his excitement Jauregui’s continued success and what’s has helped him along his journey.
“I’ve got to see the support that Rafa has, he comes from a very big family, that helps push him the right direction and developing that intrinsic motivation,” Sanchez says. “What’s impressed me the most is his ability to handle the pressure situations and be composed on the ball when the speed of play is increasing is fantastic.”
