It’s been a good past few weeks for both of the U.S. National Team senior sides.
After the Women’s team thumped Colombia in back-to-back matches, the USMNT cruised by Trinidad and Tobago by a 7-0 score line. The fixtures were the final tune-ups for both teams before a busy 2021 schedule that includes the USWNT’s quest for silverware in the SheBelieves Cup which kicks off on February 18 against Canada.

In Germany, Saturday’s most anticipated matchup is a classic regional rivalry – the Rhineland Derby – when Borussia Monchengladbach host FC Cologne. The intensity of the derby over the years has spilled into the stands, or sometimes onto the field in the form of a field-invasion.
But the history between the two began when Hennes Weisweiler left title-chasing Cologne for Gladbach and guided the club out of the second tier and into the Bundesliga where it has since become one of Germany’s consistently top clubs.

Over in Italy’s topflight, a heavyweight bout on Saturday sees the third and fourth place clubs paired up against one another when Juventus host AS Roma. The Old Lady of Italy can leapfrog the Roman giants with a win while three points for Roma would keep the club hot on the heels of both Milan clubs at the top of the table.
At the summit of the standings in Spain sits Atletico Madrid with a 10-point lead over Lionel Messi’s Barcelona who have a tricky trip to seventh-place Real Betis this Sunday.
The race for the Ligue 1 title in France is shaping up to be a good one with three clubs within three points of one another – Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain and Lille. One of the three games on Saturday’s slate sees Lyon host Strasbourg while Lille travel to Nantes on Sunday followed by PSG visiting Marseille a few hours later.
In Turkey, the Istanbul Derby takes center stage on Saturday when first place Fenerbahce host Galatasaray who trail its inter-city rival by three points in the standings. Few rivalries in Europe are as fiercely contested as this one between the two Turkish giants.
