Sacramento, Calif. – Earlier today, USL Championship announced Republic FC Goalkeeper Danny Vitiello is a finalist for Save of the Week. Voting is open now and fans can cast their ballots for the Week 5 nominees at USLChampionship.com. Voting closes on Friday, April 11 at 9 a.m. and the winner will be announced later in the afternoon.
In the 63rd minute of a deadlocked match, Danny Vitiello would come up big to keep the scoreline level. A give-and-go would create an opportunity for Louisville City FC’s Phillip Goodrum in behind the back line. Jansen Wilson’s pass provided Goodrum with a quality chance just outside of the six-yard box. Two-time Goalkeeper of the Year Vitiello met the moment, darted out to cut down the angle and kept the score even with a save off his chest.
The 2025 season continues Saturday night when the Indomitable Club heads to Southern California to take on Orange County SC at Championship Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. and the match will be broadcast live in English and Spanish on Antenna TV 40.2, as well as streaming on FOX40.com and ESPN+.
On Wednesday, April 16, Republic FC returns home to begin U.S. Open Cup play. Amateur side El Farolito comes to Heart Health Park for the Third Round of the tournament. Tickets for the match are available now at SacRepublicFC.com/Tickets.
