San Antonio FC midfielder Jose Gallegos and forward Nathan were named to the USL Championship Team of the Week after their performances in the 3-0 win against New Mexico United at Toyota Field last Wednesday. Nathan scored his second consecutive brace on the season while Gallegos added three goal contributions in the match.
Gallegos ran the show against New Mexico, assisting both of Nathan’s goals and scoring one himself in the shutout victory. The 19-year-old added five successful dribbles and three key passes on the night. Nathan’s two goals were his fourth in two matches, and sixth in four matches if you include the recent SAFC International Showcase. The Brazilian also recorded a team-high four shots and four shots on goal in the win.
Gallegos joins Nathan, Matthew Cardone, Joaquin Varela, Mathieu Deplagne, Marcus Epps, Emil Cuello, Santiago Patino, Sam Gleadle and PC who have been honored on the Team of the Week or Team of the Week bench so far this season.
