Garcia Contributed to Defensive Effort in Second-Straight Shutout
SAN ANTONIO (April 19, 2022) – San Antonio FC defender Fabien Garcia has been named to the USL Championship Team of the Week after a stifling defensive effort in Saturday’s 1-0 win over El Paso Locomotive FC
Garcia recorded six clearances and 12 recoveries in the shutout, leading the way as SAFC held their opponent scoreless for the second straight match.
Garcia has been on the pitch for every minute of USL Championship play this season, starting at centerback in all six matches.
San Antonio FC has now had a player on the Team of the Week four times in 2022, including three in the last two weeks. Last week, Garcia’s fellow defender Mitchell Taintor and keeper Jordan Farr earned the honors.
