Defender Has Appeared in All 11 Matches for SAFC in 2022
SAN ANTONIO (May 31, 2022) – San Antonio FC defender Shannon Gomez has been called up to the Trinidad & Tobago National Team for CONCACAF Nations League matches in June, the club announced today. Gomez has appeared in all 11 USL Championship matches for SAFC this season.
Gomez has represented his home country of Trinidad & Tobago with the full national team in two matches, making his debut in 2015 in a friendly against Panama. Gomez was with the team as part of last summer’s World Cup Qualifying, playing the full 90 minutes against the Bahamas.
With SAFC this season, Gomez’s three assists are tied for the team lead. The defender has appeared in every USL Championship match, racking up 762 minutes played in six starts.
Trinidad & Tobago opens their Nations League competition on Friday against Nicaragua. San Antonio FC travels to California this weekend to take on Sacramento Republic FC on Saturday, June 4 at 10:00 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast locally on Bally Sports Southwest, and nationally on ESPN+.
