Colorado Springs, CO (April 4, 2017) –The United Soccer League officially announced yesterday that the Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC would be awarded a 3-0 victory over the Tulsa Roughnecks FC due to their use of an ineligible player.
OFFICIAL LEAGUE STATEMENT
"The United Soccer League announced on Monday that Tulsa Roughnecks FC had forfeited its first game of the 2017 USL regular season on March 25, 2017, against Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC for use of an ineligible player.
As a result, the Switchbacks have been awarded a 3-0 victory, which will be reflected in the league standings. League statistics will also be updated to reflect the ruling."
With Saturday's 1-1 draw against Oklahoma City at Weidner Field, the Switchbacks now sit in 5th place in the Western Conference with 4 points and a +3 goal differential.
The Switchbacks head south to take on 2nd place San Antonio FC on Friday night at 6:00 PM mountain time. The Switchbacks will then travel to Rio Grande Valley next Wednesday before returning home on April 15th against the Real Monarchs at Weidner Field.
