Seattle, WA (September 16, 2017) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC earned a draw in Seattle as Jack Jones scored an equalizer for the Switchbacks at the end of the first half.
The Switchbacks came into this match after a 1-2 loss to Phoenix at home determined not to lose this one. They started out pushing hard right from kickoff. In the first few minutes of play, the Switchbacks had several goal attempts but Seattle was able to hold them off. After this push, there was a lot of back and forth movement on the field with both teams making good shots. Seattle made several close shots but Moise Pouaty was there to keep them at bay, Then in the 21st minute, Seattle got a shot in. Following this in the 29th minute, there was a yellow card against Rony Argueta. In the 34th minute, the tides started to turn as there was a yellow card called against Seattle. After several Goal attempts Jack Jones was able to finally break through Seattle's goal defense and tie the game up making it 1-1 where it stayed.
The switchbacks started off the second half pushing again with Jack Jones leading the charge with several goal attempts. In the 70th-minute #11, Kevaughn Frater was subbed in for #77 Jack Jones. In the 72nd minute, another yellow card was called against Seattle. Several goal attempts were made against Seattle by Kevaughn Frater and Masta Kacher but Seattle was able to hold them off. Then in the 82nd-minute #18 Aaron king is subbed in for #23 Shane Malcolm. in the 87-minute #24, Tobenna Uzo is subbed in for #10 Masta Kacher. The Switchbacks put in a good effort but in the end were not able to break through Seattle's defense again and the match ended in a 1-1 tie.
The Switchbacks will return home Saturday, September 23rd against Swope Park Rangers. Remember that night will be technology. Tickets start at just $12 and are available here.
