Colorado Springs, CO (October 25, 2017) – The Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC officially announced today they have raised $7,040.90 through community outreach initiatives with money going to local non-profits and Hurricane Harvey relief.
Since their inaugural 2015 season, the Switchbacks have been fully invested in the Colorado Springs community and have looked for ways to give back to the community. For the third straight year, the Switchbacks auctioned off special edition pink jerseys that go to benefit the Cancer Patient Support Fund at the Penrose-St. Francis Health Foundation. This year, the Switchbacks donated over $1,500 from the auction.
The Switchbacks also created a special edition "4 Texas" jersey this year to help those affected by Hurrican Harvey through the American Red Cross. The Switchbacks were able to donate $2,800 along with Weidner Apartment Homes' matching $2,800 for a total of $5,600 to the American Red Cross to help the relief efforts in Texas in areas that were affected by Hurrican Harvey that hit the Houston area in late August.
