Player of the Month Nominees:
Jake Dengler, Center Back: The Maryland Maldini played a crucial role in South Georgia’s defense during April but also proved to be an attacking weapon for the Ibises. Dengler’s threat on set pieces proved pivotal as he recorded an assist in the 3-0 win against Lexington SC and netted the opening goal against USL Championship side Miami FC.
Pedro Fonseca, Midfielder: The Brazilian magician found his form in April, opening the month with two assists in South Georgia’s Open Cup dismantling of the Savannah Clovers. Fonseca continued this form in his appearances against Lexington and Miami, adding a goal against Lexington and an assist that closed the game against Miami.
Ajmeer Spengler, Midfielder: The Tampa native continued his strong form that he opened the season with by recording one assist and creating seven-goal scoring chances for South Georgia. The midfielder continued to show his work rate on and off the ball by completing 12 dribbles and winning 38 duels in 373 minutes of action.
Sebastián Vivas, Forward: The Argentinian attacker found the back of the net in four out of five matches for South Georgia during April. His second-half goal against the Savannah Clovers was his first goal in South Georgia and was the first of three straight matches he scored in.
