STATESBORO, Ga. – May 9, 2024 – Captain Conor Doyle, Pedro Fonseca, and Sebastián Vivas of South Georgia Tormenta FC were named to the USL League One Team of the Week, following their impressive standard of play on the pitch during the Tormenta FC versus Union Omaha match. Doyle and Fonseca were both named to the starting XI, and Vivas was named to the bench.
Fonseca, who played all 90 minutes of the match, found a late-in-the-game goal in the 84th minute to bolster the score for Tormenta FC. He took an impressive seven shots during the match, had 100% accuracy with long balls, and he won seven duels.
Conor Doyle created three chances during the match, won 100% of his tackles and duels, and provided an impressive assist to Vivas. Doyle also had three interceptions during the match.
Vivas found the opening goal for South Georgia. Vivas also created two chances for South Georgia, had 100% accuracy with long balls, and won six duels.
