STATESBORO, Ga. – May 17, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC takes on the Chattanooga Red Wolves for the first time in the 2024 season at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 18 at Tormenta Stadium.
Recipe Review
South Georgia comes into the match following a challenging stint of away matches, most recently playing against Greenville Triumph. The Chattanooga Red Wolves are coming off of a victory against the Richmond Kickers. South Georgia is, at present, 7th in the USL League One standings, whereas Chattanooga sits in 10th place. South Georgia has its sights locked on finding a win against the Red Wolves to regain momentum.
Key Ingredients
The 2023 USL League One Young Player of the Year, Jackson Khoury, found his first goal of the 2024 season in South Georgia’s last match. As this 21-year-old midfielder finds his stride, he will pose a significant threat to Chattanooga’s back line.
Ajmeer Spengler, a first-season professional, has taken the league by storm, finding an uncanny talent for dribbling past a flurry of defenders to lock in a goal or send a through ball to his teammates for an assist. Spengler currently leads USL League One rookies in the number of minutes played for the 2024 season.
Foe’s Formula
The current Chattanooga and former Tormenta FC keeper, TJ Bush has made key saves and defensive plays to maintain multiple clean sheets this season. South Georgia will look to apply intense pressure to Chattanooga’s defense to find scoring opportunities and slot goals past Bush.
