STATESBORO, Ga. – May 31, 2024 – South Georgia Tormenta FC resumes regular season play on June 1 in Charlotte, North Carolina, taking on Charlotte Independence for the second time this season.

Recipe Review
South Georgia Tormenta FC comes into the match following a challenging match against the Richmond Kickers in the USL Jägermeister Cup. Prior to this match, Tormenta FC shutout the Chattanooga Red Wolves with a 4-0 score in regular season play.
Charlotte Independence comes into Saturday’s match after losing on penalty kicks to Northern Colorado Hailstorm, and lost the match prior outright to Union Omaha.
Key Ingredients
Sebastían Vivas scored the lone goal during the match against Richmond and found his first brace in the match prior. The striker will look to continue his goal-scoring streak and find the back of the net as often as possible.
Mason Tunbridge found an assist against Richmond and made other key plays for the Ibises. Tunbridge won four ground duels and made 41 touches in his 64 minutes on the pitch.
Foe’s Formula
Luis Alvarez, a midfielder for Charlotte, netted a goal against Northern Colorado in the last match, also making 62 touches and had a 75% long ball accuracy rate. Tormenta’s backline will look to thwart attempts at advancement by Alvarez.
