The 2022 U.S. WNT Pan Am Championship roster contains a mix of veteran talent and fresh faces with seven athletes returning from the Canada Cup, World Games and Japan All-Star Series rosters while eight members look to make their 2022 debut for Team USA. Among the veterans are six members of the World Games gold medal team – two of which helped lead the U.S. to a silver medal finish at the Tokyo Olympic Games – and five additional athletes with experience on a previous U.S. WNT or Junior Women’s National Team (JWNT) roster while four rookies look to rep the Red, White and Blue for the first time in their career.
With two current and 13 former NCAA Division I student-athletes, the Pan Am Championship roster includes talent from all across the country with 12 universities and six athletic conferences represented – including the Pac-12 (six athletes), SEC (five athletes), AAC (one athlete), Big 12 (one athlete), CAA (one athlete) and C-USA (one athlete) while Arizona, Florida and UCLA lead the pack with two athletes apiece. Also represented with one athlete on the roster is James Madison, LSU, Marshall, Mississippi State, Oregon State, Tennessee, Texas, UCF and Washington.
Once again leading the U.S. on the international stage, Head Coach Heather Tarr (Redmond, Washington/University of Washington Softball Head Coach) looks to guide the Eagles to gold at the 2022 Pan American Championship. Brian Kolze (Head Coach at Pacific) will coach alongside Tarr after assisting at the Canada Cup earlier this year while Mike Steuerwald (Head Coach at Gaston College) also returns to the staff after serving as assistant coach at the Japan All-Star Series in August.
