Oakland and San Diego have split their three game season series heading into this fourth and final matchup with Oakland Roots winning the most recent encounter 2-1 courtesy of a Johnny Rodriguez Goal of the Year candidate and a second half Jose Hernandez PK. Just one week prior to that 2-1 win, the two sides fought to a 0-0 draw and in the first match all the way back in June, San Diego escaped with a 1-0 victory from a late Miguel Ibarra goal.
Oakland Roots are coming off three consecutive games where they have been unable to find the back of the net, bringing it to 14 games total in which Oakland Roots have been shutout. Roots have three tied for the team lead in goals at four with Bokila, Mbumba and Wall. Roots will be without team leading creator Lindo Mfeka who has four assists on the season.
